This band popped onto the local Radio 104.5 scene last year with “Oscar Wilde”. Since then I’ve only heard additional radio play for the song in the video above, “Death of Communication”. The singer has a pretty distinct style, though I am sure there are plenty of comparisons made about her and Björk. Check them out. Someday I hope to see them live.

A Philadelphia Area artist and acquaintance of mine, Michael Shank of Trauma Rising Design, has really been blowing me away lately, with very vivid and breathtaking art.

He popped up in my facebook newsfeed over the last couple weeks… I have been unable to look away since. Keep an eye out for opportunities for prints and apparel.

I’ll be participating in the Komen for the Cure 5K Walk in Philadelphia on Mother’s Day 2012, with team: Zumba Fitness with Jana!

We need to beat this terrible disease and continue to raise awareness and educate! Men and women can get breast cancer. No one knows our own body better than we do – do monthly breast self-exams. Living Donor

Yesterday, my favorite YouTube personality Philip DeFranco addressed a concept commonly called “living donors” and how a donor could directly affect his family. If you’re not familiar, a living donor gives a kidney, portion of liver or bone marrow to a chronically ill person.

Sure he is asking for a kidney for his father, which may seem overbearing, but he’s just using his resources and at the same time spreading awareness of the program – and possibly help his father.

I thought it was an interesting and totally unique concept. Few people like donating money, how about donating something you can never get back and may need to survive? Probably one of the most righteous and difficult decisions there is in the world.
